Matt Forte #22 of the Chicago Bears yells during player introductions before a game against the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field on September 13, 2015 in Chicago, Illinois. The Packers defeated the Bears 31-23.After eight seasons with the Chicago Bears that left him second on the team's all-time rushing list to Walter Payton, free agent Matt Forte will sign with the New York Jets.With Jets 2015 leading rusher Chris Ivory agreeing to a deal with the Jaguars, New York was in the market for a running back.Forte, 30, was slowed by injuries last season and rushed for a career-low 898 yards but still averaged 4.1 yards per carry. He also has always been a threat as a receiver, even though his yardage dropped from a career-high 808 in 2014 to 389 last season.

NASHVILLE;

A person familiar with negotiations says the Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with Texans offensive lineman Ben Jones and veteran quarterback Matt Cassel.The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Wednesday because the deals hadn't been finalized.The Titans swipe a lineman who started every game last season for AFC South rival Houston in Jones while adding experience to their offensive line to better protect quarterback Marcus Mariota. Tennessee gave up a league-worst 54 sacks last season.The Houston Chronicle first reported Jones agreed to a four-year deal with Tennessee.Cassel, an 11-year veteran, started nine games last season with Buffalo and Dallas and is expected to compete with Zach Mettenberger to back up Mariota.

KANSAS CITY;

The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to a five-year contract with former Browns offensive lineman Mitchell Schwartz, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press.The person spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday because the Chiefs had not announced the deal.Schwartz played every game for Cleveland last season as the bookend to Pro Bowl tackle Joe Thomas. The second-round pick in the 2012 draft is the brother of former Giants offensive guard Geoff Schwartz, who played for Kansas City during the 2013 season.The Chiefs also agreed to a deal with outside linebacker Jonathan Massaquoi as free agency began.Meanwhile, the franchise was docked two draft picks and ordered to pay a $250,000 fine for violating the NFL's anti-tampering rules in their discussions with wide receiver Jeremy Maclin last year. The Chiefs said in a statement they will appeal the penalties.
