BOXING RING;
The International game of boxing game is played in a boxing ring.It is of two types,platform and floor.The platform is at a height between 0.91 m to 1.22 m.It is a rectangular ring of size between 5 m to 6 m.It has posts at four corners.The colour of a corner post is red and that of the diagonally opposite post is blue.The other two parts are of white.The competitors wearing red and blue belts occupy the respective posts.The red post faces the president of the jury.The ring is made of thick planks of 0.30 x 0.38 x 7 meters.It is shielded by metal posts of maximum height of 2.67 m (1.45 m above platform) from the floor.These posts have a diameter of 10 to 15 cm.The floor covering of the ring consists of flexible approved material such as rubber or felt of 1.3 to 1.9 cm in thickness.
It is completely covered by a canvas.Three or four ropes of 0.03 to .05 m in diameter which have a covering of soft and smooth material to prevent any rope scratch are tied around the ring with the help of spring attached to the posts.
The ropes are tied at a height of 40.6 cm,71.1.cm,101.6cm,and 132.1 cm from from the floor of the ring when four ropes are used and at a height of 40 cm,80 cm,and 130 cm in the case of three ropes.At equal distance of 3-4 cm between the ropes,a strip made of canvas or leather is fixed so that the ropes do not separate when the boxer lean against them.stool is provided at the red and blue corners for the competitions..Two ladders are also provided for their use.A ladder is provided at a white corner for use of referees and doctors.
