 National Action Plan to Fight Corona Virus to be Presented in Cabinet: Dr Ferdous
ISLAMABAD, (February 29, 2020) - Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, said Saturday that a national action plan has been prepared to deal with the Coron virus. ۔ Addressing a press conference with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Dr. Zafar Mirza, Cabinet for approval, he said that all provinces, effectively addressing the situation to deal with the Corona virus, A national action plan has been prepared in consultation with the relevant ministries and stakeholders. He said that the National Action Plan covers all aspects of devising a joint strategy to fight the disease with full force and with the availability of all resources. He added that this action plan would be based on coordination, communication methodology and effective strategy. He said that the Federal Government had to know the current status and ground situation of coronavirus in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu. They received detailed briefings about the arrangements from representatives of all provinces including Kashmir. He said that there was a message of clear results of this meeting which was held today at the National Institute of Health (NIH) that prevention is better than cure. And can be avoided by the Corona virus and no need to panic as 98% of Corona virus cases are reported Well, the whole world has recovered. Dr Ferdous said there is no emergency of coronavirus in the country because there have been very few reported cases. He said the media's role is important in raising awareness about the disease and telling them about precautionary measures and other aspects of the disease, including illness. He said there is a consensus that citizens should be exposed to the Corona virus. All political parties must be prepared to devise strategies to protect it. Corona virus strategies will be implemented at all levels, from the district to the federal level, with the involvement of all stakeholders, local administration and provincial governments, he added.
